Great people, great place, great food, great time! The Labor Day party was a great success!

Our Independence Day celebration was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the festivities. The food, fireworks, and fun were all made better by the incredible sense of
community we share here!

Have you noticed that many (almost all?) of the bicycles in the bike racks at Portofino have rusty chains and deflated tires? Those days are gone!
Charles and Benji Parker have taken it on themselves to get these bikes streetworthy! Charles is a skilled mechanic and tinkerer, and he is taking on this project to better the marina and make it so if someone needs a bicycle for a quick ride to the Swamp Shack or wherever, there’ll be one ready to go. And Benji is important moral support!

Give Charles and Benji a big thanks and hat tip the next time you see them!
On Saturday May 24 we had a great time! From orange juice, coffee and donuts in the morning to a delicious T-Bone Tom’s catered lunch, to visiting and lounging by and in the pool all afternoon, a great time was had by all!

While this author missed the first one, we can definitely say that the Second Annual Texas Free Boat Show last year was a BLAST!
And while all the boats and vendors will keep you crazy occupied, DO NOT MISS THE GREAT SEMINARS. Last year, Portofino’s own Philip Kropf, The Recreational Boater Information Guy, gave a superb talk on Cruising Galveston Bay. Hopefully he’ll be speaking this year… *crosses fingers*
From the Yachty Gras website:
Yachty Gras is a positive thinking goal-oriented organization formed to bring recognition and tourism to the Bay Area Houston communities. Our events promotes the cities, boating community, businesses & hotels. Each year we give back to other nonprofit organizations.
Cool! And as for the rainy forecast, well…
Laissez les bons temps rouler y’all!
